I think you have put it all in perspective. Unfortunately I work full time and have a limited amount of time to work on either my musical "education" or to rewriting music. If the computer programs are really not that effective, I am likely to just get an additional case of frustration.
Maybe after I get retired I can go back to college and take some courses in music (something I would love to do). If so, I may even learn to decypher some of the "professional high level" commentary brought to this by our learned colleague from across the big mill pond.
In any case I do appreciate your input.
