If you belong to any largers groups, such as a band or orchestra, you could ask the members about joining a quintet. The advantage to this is that you already have some idea of the othere's abilities. (If you are thinking about the trumpet players in the larger group and hoping you might some other who are less arogant, you won't.)

You might also try the local music schools that have adult students. Or contact local teachers to see if they or their adult students would be interested.

Finding people may seem like the hardest part; until you try to get everbody to show up at the same time for rehearsal. One thing that will help is having some good sheet music to start with. The Canadian Brass quintet books make a great start to building a quintet music library. I'd start with one or two of the easier books. The more advanced books can be very difficult.
