Why stop at one language? Why not learn 3? Italian, German and French are the 3 most often used non-english languages in music. You don't have to have a thorough grammatical knowledge of each....just enough to know not only what the words mean, but the emotional content that is attached to these words.

From my own experience....the first time that I heard a native Italian say the words "pianissimo", "presto", "dolce" and especially "appassionato".....those words really meant something. They were no longer just words on the page that meant (roughly translated) "very soft", "very fast", "sweetly" and "passionate." They took on a life of their own.

And if at all possible, I highly recommend learning how to actually speak what you know of these languages with natives. Lots of benefits here....I'll let you figure out what they are. Trust me on this one....there are many!
