Hi and thank you Dan!

A bit awkward having your name bandied about before you've even been called, I'm sorry about that. After reading all the good advice here, I am having La Var Wherry (from Taylor Music) send the tuba to me for appraisal before I do ANYTHING. There are three tiny cracks in the bell, the largest one is less than a 1/4" long. (On a side note, it seems his brother worked for you at some time in the past...?)

There are virtually no dents, but there are patches, so we'll see what it looks like. As I mentioned in another post, my intent had been to send it to you specifically because you had just done a 345 and because of your interest in this models history. There is a very capable brass repairman locally, and I will have him look at it. The name of his shop is Frankenhorn (and I'm not kidding) and as the name suggests he's put the torch to a few interesting horns.

As for the survey, I will call or e-mail with all the details ASAP.

Thanks again for the advice Dan.

Dietmar
