I tried out a Miraphone 191 last spring at Brooks Mays in Dallas and loved it. I tried the other tubas they had in stock and was not as impressed with them as I was with the 191. I have been playing the tuba for years and the 191 undoubtedly was the most responsive, most efficient, best sounding horn and most in tune of any I have ever played. For me it took very little air to get a big sound. I used the TU-25 & TU-27 mouthpieces, which got the best sound. And that was even in the very small room I was given to try out the horn! With the rotary valves and sight reading some Blazhevich, the music just tripped right off my fingers like a dream! If I had the money, I would buy it in a heartbeat! My opinion for what it's worth.
