The main attraction of the bowling alley at Ft Myer is that it's the closest 'food' available. Given the last two years' experience with getting off- and back on-base at dinner time, I expect that the snack bar will do a booming busines this year.
There's also the dining room - but an influx of tuba players seems to upset the delicate social balance there. Not so at the bowling alley - they don't seem to notice us.
