I have played alot of 1295's trying them out and if you are a tall guy they work pretty well.
The only thing you have to watch out for is some of them are a little stuffy in the lower register. If you play a few you will find a good one and the sound an projection.
Not all of them are bad. I do agree that the new 1291 is a better tuba but if you can get an open 1295 and at a good deal,,,, go for it.
