that he can't anchor the corners of his mouth. I've seen this with kids who were taught to "pucker" into the mouthpiece with no surrounding muscle support. I've found that getting the player to first "free buzz" with no mouthpiece and, while maintaining the buzz, place the horn and mouthpiece up to the lips, one can illustrate how a successful buzz can be performed.
