It's got all the ingredients for a best-selling novel or blockbuster summer movie: Compelling characters, romance, adventure, and plenty of technical information about engines. Okay, there's no romance, I use the term "adventure" rather loosely, and the characters are one-dimensional. But I stand by the part about plenty of technical information about engines.
This record is actually much more interesting than other automotive training filmstrip records I've listened to. Someone decided to go all out and devise a wisp of a plot and some actual characters to spice up the technical stuff. That way, whether your dealership's mechanics are Irish, big dumb palookas, or generic guys, they'll find someone on the record to identify with. Did this inspire the mechanics to do a better job? How the hell should I know? I don't even own a car!
