The best trumpet player I've been around appears to use the same "tight face" embouchure structure that I use on horn...but he's younger and stronger and can play a lot higher.
The other trumpet player I know, who plays a very good super-high baroque trumpet, doesn't appear to be straining, but uses a lot of lower lip, and when he's tired he says he's "playing on gums."
