I'm too utilitarian when it comes to bikes, and I don't consider myself a vintage collector. My '78 Moore is the bike I had built to race on in college. I worked a whole summer, and bought Campy parts from the import warehouse in Houston to pay for it. (That campy dude is now the proprietor of the Helotes Bike Shop, which is on the list of shops trading in the classics.)
Unlike Joe, I HAVE carried my tuba in a backpack gig bag on my bicycle, but it was nearly the end of me, the tuba, AND the bike. Even when I was riding 300+ miles a week, I had no balance.
