Oh, it's so much easier to play that upper G on trombone with a sharp 2nd position than it usually is on a valved instrument. Don't know why, but it just pops out.
I've also got different sets of fingerings for my different horns. Some like the note 1-2, some like it 3rd. The 20J I fooled around with for a while required its F to be played 1-3 (as we've read often on here).
Use whatever works.
