I only put smaller mouthpieces on large instruments to change the character of the sound. I have never experienced significant changes in intonation characteristics on a tuba by changing mouthpieces...
...Yeah, tubas with really some really flat pitches are easier to "lip" with smaller mouthpieces, but just as flat prior to "lipping"...
