A repairman just needs to rebuild your tuning slide for you...possibly making the ferrules - which connect the inside slide tubes to the crook - perhaps about 1-1/2 or so inches longer (both sides, obviously).
For a little bit nicer job, if he happens to have some approx. 1-1/2" long pieces of tubing that are the same dimensions as the two different sizes of your main tuning slide tubing, it would be nice if your repairman would insert these inside the new longer ferrules (in order to make the bore consistant within the newly-lengthened slide assembly).
