And...clarifying - I'm not so sure that the "fleck" is really due to "wear". It's in an area which doesn't get touched in normal usage (although I can't be sure that it doesn't get abused in either the case or the dent bag. What makes this spot distinctive is that it looks like the silver *flaked* off, rather than wore off, or was scraped off.
Anyway...thanks - I'm making my shopping list for shop supplies 220 grit cloth, 600 grit paper, 1500 grit paper, and a vat of clear nail polish...
