A lot of it has to do with neglegence. Others it's to sell it quickly when it's a piece of crap. Saying "gold" or "silver" might effectively grab the unaware buyer. The Haydn tubas are poor stencils of more successful European horns. I highly recommend avoiding 'em altogether. They are NOT worth the asking price that is going on there.
