Its a normal thing... Dont sweat it -- It will pass.
The tuning slide on the horn is not used to get you in tune, it is used to move the center of the horn.
Do some practicing with your tuner and play with the tuning slide all the way in (in practice, not in ensembles) force yourself to play low on the center -- as you get in shape, you will gradually move where you play on the horn, down.
If you focus on the best tone, rather than worry about pitch, everything will fall into place.
