If these "boxes" transmit an interference signal on only a single frequency band (and that of the country of origin), then they may not have any effect here in the US. If they transmit on multiple frequencies, I hope they don't happen to pick the frequency of the house wireless microphone system (assuming you're at a performance with drama or vocalists). You'd suddenly become a hero for dealing with the cell phone, but rather unpopular for other reasons!
