Two or three years ago, I put a stupid dent in the rear left upper "point" (next to the trunk lid) of my old Taurus. Not knowing any better, I got out a brazing torch, various odd shapes of steel tools (mostly not meant for dent removal), a couple of different shaped hammers, and completely removed the dent without "Bondo". I was able to sand out the final imperfections in the steel. Fortunately, the car was gloss black and after trying a couple of brands of spray cans, I found a very close match to the car...' better than telling my wife, or paying a body shop.

uhh...I'm backing up a little slower these days - particularly in pitch dark when there's a rental bob-truck parallel parked next to the inner edge of a sidewalk.
