For the money, I will have to say that the St. Petersburg tuba from the Tuba Exchange cannot be topped. I played my college career on a CC Miraphone 186-5 valve. The miraphone sound does not compare. ....I'm using this horn for graduate work in tuba performance. No horn is perfect. You have to pick the one that you like and go with it. Take advice from us, but go with what feels best on your face. In the long run, that will outlive critics of various horn species.
