The trick is learing to transpose. You save yourself hours of transcribing! There are many tricks to learn how to do it, (reading as tenor clef, changing the key, etc.)but the key is to get doing it. The more you do it the easier ti will get. Trumpet and Horn players have to do it all the time. They may get a part for Eb trumpet all they have is a Bb or C trp.(of course their horns don't cost 5K either). Or Horn parts are often in different keys depending on the edition and when the piece was written, so they music learn to transpose the part. We should too. Then you can play anyone elses music. ken k
