While we're on the subject of jazz tuba, especially trad-jazz (puh-leeze don't call it "Dixieland" ;-), I'd suggest listening to Eli Newberger -- he's a fantastic player who's been with the New Black Eagle Jazz Band since its inception. If you want to hear more of Newberger by himself, though, the best way to do it is by getting any of his albums with Jimmy Mazzy (banjo/vocals). Jim is a great musician, and he and Newberger have recorded together several times, as a duo or trio with Robin Verdier on piano.

(Disclosure statement: I played trombone and tuba with Mazzy on a weekly basis for several years, so I'm a little biased -- but he's won nationwide polls as the top male trad jazz vocalist, too.)

Anyhow, Newberger is one of the best jazz tuba players around -- check him out!
