Not all sousaphones are created equally large, so the numbers you'll see here are at best approximate. Furthermore, I can only give you dimensions that I think are appropriate if I tell you how a box with those dimensions can be used.

You will be best off to find a box about 90cm x 90cm x 50cm. Wrap bubble-wrap around the body tubes so it doesn't clobber the bell. Then nest them together and place them in the box, filling the box with styrofoam peanuts. Now, find ANOTHER box, VERY sturdy (better still, plywood), that is about 110cm x 110cm x 70cm. Line this box with 30lb foam rubber 10cm thick, and place the first box inside it. Then, think SHIP not airplane, and spring for insurance. Finally, have a repair guy waiting around to fix things when they arive.

If you're going to all this effort and expense, I hope you're going to get a good one!
