I use a ProTec for my front-valved tuba. You have to careful because many gig bags are made for top-valved horns (if you buy one of these and use it as a backpack, you'll have valves digging into your back). It's just something to keep in mind. I like the ProTec because it loads like a regular case. The top loading ones like you are talking about, in my opinion, are a pain to load. The only thing nice about the top loaders is that there is less of a chance for zipper scratches. There are many good companies out there and from my experience they are all of good quality.
