The relative impracticality of hauling a tuba all over the place causes me to suggest adding a smaller cousin to your arsenal (a euph, bari, or bone, or maybe a small Eb). Buy a cheap one that you can afford to risk with baggage handlers, or if you take up trombone buy a golf club case and put your horn, padded with clothes or towels, in the golf club case. Then, in each city find parks or parking lots to play in on the road.
