Play the music instead of the notes. It sounds cliche, but is true. Every single phrase should be done with a concious statement. So many people will play a large part of their music on autopilot with periodic musical moments. This is soooooo boring to listen to. The technical parts will come with repetitive slow practice. The musical ideas expressed by every phrase will not come from repetition. They will come from imagination.
Always play with a purpose.
