Yes, and if I am not mistaken, Yamaha builds their tubas to A-445. I don't understand the "flutter" problem you mention. I use a Conn Helleberg and have no problems, but that is me and not you. When i was in the military, I purchased a large amount of YBB-641's for the school. The only inherent problem I found on the majority of them was that the Eb in the staff was very, very hard to center. BTW, the only notes I have to slush pump on are are the low low Eb and C and the G first line is sharp. The upper register is really solid as is the rest of the horn.
