What is your foundation for your statements? I have played the 861 once - I found it to be a nice sounding horn that played very comfortably. The owner is a very prominent LA studio and freelance player. Of course, when compared to an Alex, most horns will shy in comparison. I own a 822 F and I have never found a problem with construction. I think that the custom level horns have all the same level of construction. I don't have a problem with your having an opinion, just give it some foundation.
