Good for Gene. Great list. 1812 should satisfy anyone's need for standard repertoire. Bruckner 6th comes up enough to warrent familiarity. It's in Torchinsky, as is the rarely heard Prokofiev 2nd. The latter has been recorded by Neeme Jarvi and the Scottish National on Chandos. Without having an actual part in front of me I will hazard a guess the Berlioz excerpt is the bass line to a mock Amen chorus. The chorus does the mocking the tuba plays it straight. Mostly in the upper part of the staff in long continuous phrasing. With the possible exception of the Prokofiev, complete parts should be obtainable from Kalmus, and complete recordings of all this stuff are out there to be sought and found. One could make a case for more standard rep at an audtion for young players, but, it's Gene's court, Gene's rules, and Gene rules.
