Tried a Besson 981, that was very good. Ordered a new one, that was even better at arrival 3 months later. I play it with a PT-50 with an enlarged backbore. It does not feel stuffy to me, but it is a bass, and not a contra bass, tuba despite its good low register.

Also tried the 4 valv comp Yamaha (YEB 631?), which was the one I was out for, as I really like my YEP 641 euph. It was advertised as having lighter gauge walls of the inner tubing. It most certainly had. Rattling at anything above mf.

If you are moving even a modest amount of air, then the the Yamaha would not be an option for you.
