One of the community bands I am currently playing with is hitting a crisis point in recruiting and keeping members. Actually the retention isn't so bad, but we need about twice the membership we have just to make it a little less disastrous when somebody can't make practice.
Any ideas from the group on how to find more players - particularly those come back types who don't realize how much they miss playing in the band?
I realize many ideas will seem obvious, but I'm down to fishing for those two or three things we haven't tried yet.
