Well, Bill, I suppose that depends on who's doing the singing.
I heard some mighty fine playing on that big Willson as the Army Tuba Conference, and spent some time with a similar horn that Vince Scaminetti is selling. I think it is the best big F I've ever played, and I liked it much better than the Yamaha 822. If you want an F that sounds like a contrabass, that's about as close as you'll get.
Personally, I prefer an F that sounds like an F, which is why I'm happy with my little Yamaha 621.
