Well I play the tuba also, (gee duh), and i'm going out with my dad for a week, to audition at Notre Dame, Northwestern, and Butler. I have audition may times for different reasons, and i always get nervous, even at the simple fifth grade concerts i give solos at! SO getting nervous will give you a really good edge, and will bring out a part in your playing that you don't normally get when practicing! But make sure you son't get to nervous, because that will just wear you out, and you will be totally exhusted, which is not what you want.
