No, I didn't say that. And I think it's reasonable to request that the expert check before making changes. But I'd be more upset with a tech who didn't open my eyes to faults in my horn than I would one who only fixed what I, in my limited understanding and vision, thought needed to be fixed and let other faults go unmentioned. Let's agree on that middle ground.

The question is, do we select instruments because of their imperfections? If the answer is yes, then maybe it's my playing that needs work more than the horn.
