I use Doug Elliott mouthpiece. 134 rim, T cup 5TH back bore. If I want a bit more 'snap.' I'll go to a P cup, or an M cup with the 132 rim. Tried the Conn Hellebergs and its variants (Schilke, Marcincewitz, Canadian Brass, Mirafone H2, Wick) They are OK, but I prefer the Elliott. Bachs don't work for me. Mirafones C3, C4 (and other 'German' style mouthpieces) are not really compatible with the American style tuba. The Yamaha Bobo Symphonic has some promise. I've only been playing it a week or so, I can't formulate firm opinion, but FEELS promising.
