I purchased it from Custom Music 5 years ago right about the time that the Kurath design was sold to Wilson. It has an amazing sound. For my money, there isn't another F tuba on the market with the power and projection of this tuba (yes, I have tried the new Meinl Weston 45SLP and the Wilson copy of the Kurath, and they aren't even close). I play my Kurath regularly in the Tennessee Philharmonic when an F tuba part comes up. I love it. If anyone is ever in the Nashville, TN, area and would like to give it a blow, it would be my pleasure to accomodate you. Just send me an email, and we can iron out the specifics.
