The Kruspe F tuba was a 5-valve horn with four front-action
rotarys and a fifth rotor that sat higher and was mounted
perpendicular to the other four. This valve was operated by
the thumb of the left hand. Experienced tubists know enough
to count the valves (which can easily be seen) and not
the finger-paddles.
