A few years ago I had the opportunity to pick up some old fiberglass sousas for $50 a throw. There were about 8 of them in a lot from a school, but you would have needed to buy 2 or 3 of them to get enough parts to make one working horn (kind of like buying a beetle years ago). Fortunately I held out, and found a beaten-up but very playable silver 20K for $100. The valves were in great condition (the repair told me he was always amazed at how well valves held out on old Conns), so all I needed to do was to have it cleaned, get some broken braces fixed, and put some elbow grease into shining it to get a nice horn.

As they used to say at my college, "Don't wrap my a** in fiberglass!"
