I don't know if you have talked to Charlie Krause at tubastore.com (Brook Mays Music) or not, but when I made a visit a few weekends ago, he had a 52J available for testing and I was told he had 56J's that just needed to be unpacked.
I'm not sure which places told you that you would have to wait a month, but as of a few weekends ago I could have taken home a new 52J the same day and probably a 56J. I use "probably" because they said they had them, but I never actually saw one on my last visit. He has had them in the past, and I have played them, but they move fast.
The only way to really find out what is in stock is to call and ask for Charlie Krause.
