I really have to lean toward the design and comfort of the Altieri...it really is beefier than the Altieir's of yore and riding a bicycle with one is easy (especially if you ask for the belt-strap around your waste). Now, there will be people who scoff at this idea, but I do like getting around quickly with at tuba on my back instead of dealing with the pain of walking. Also, the zipper on reunion blues have sometimes been faulty...and they feel like crap on your back!
Lastly, people are writing at great length about the cushion involved with such and such a bag...there is no way a gig bag will prevent dents! Scratches, yes-dents, no! I, personally would like one of those old leather bags that you see the "old-guys" in the tuba world carrying around--at least then you don't have any false sense of security. Remember--gig bags are the repairmans' best friends!
