I've owned an old (circa 1963) MW20 for 20 years. First, they're not a great horn, but they sure are tough. Excellent workmanship and materials. Second, even though they are advertised as a 3/4 horn, they're not that small. A Yammie YBB 103 (which is also advertised as 3/4) is much smaller. Third, projects pretty well, but sounds very good with lots of air (I learned this especially after I had been playing my VMI Neptune for about 4 months, then picked up my MW20 again). Fourth, they're a pretty good horn for concert bands & dixieland, but it takes some work to make the notes slot spot-on. Lastly, good ergonomics. I'm 5'10" and the horn is very easy to handle.
Good luck with your selection. - Rex
