1) Both horns are based on the same original York. The man who played this horn for 50+ years tried both of these horns in his lifetime. His comments on the Nirschl was something to the effect, "there's just something not quite right about this horn." (This is from a VERY reliable source.)
Not true! I was with Mr Jacobs when we first played the Floyd-o-phone. He thought it was the best reproduction of the York. This was at ITEC at Northwestern University.
