Before dropping the serious change on the Yamaha 621, you need to look into the 3/4 Weril horns that come in BBb and CC. It's a very good copy of the Yamaha and plays every bit as good if not a little better for less than half the cost. Even if you are pretty well set on the Yamaha you owe it to yourself to test the Weril.

I'm also an amatuer player and use one at church and in a small orchestra at work. I had a professor in college that had the Yamaha 621 as his primary horn and was very impressed with it. They are a little small for a full orchestra but do very well in quintet and smaller groups. Very easy blowing and the intonation is great.

I picked my up from Mid South Music in Memphis, Joe posts here frequently and is a great person to deal with. He also keeps his eye out for demo units and blems that can save some money.

Good luck in your search.

Rick
