Don't be afraid of sounding differently than you do now. Turn off the self evaluation and focus on your perfect player in the head. Relax to the point of loosing control. Let it happen. Just let whatever comes out the bell come out. Stay focussed on the perfect mental imagery.

Ignore your sound results and focus on the relaxation. At first you may still have difficulty with self evaluation and believe you are sounding horrible. You might try to regain control and result in tension again. Stay focussed on the relaxation and allow a tape recorder to tell you what is really coming out of the bell.

The more total practice sessions you put in per day, the easier this will become. It will be difficult to accomplish the ease you are after with only 2 or 3 hours per day of practice.

Let go and trust.
