I have talked to Ricky McQueen on the phone a few years back. Then he had access to quite heavily discounted factory seconds from B&H (dents and finish problems). He could pick these seconds himself.
(And yes, I know that a lot of posters will tell, that most B&H instruments are seconds by these standards).
