I bought a CC last April, and became reasonably proficient after several months of struggle and irritation, but still had "senior moments" where my brain would switch to BBb fingerings or to treble clef fingerings for no good reason. I've just gone back to BBb, and have no problem with CC fingerings intruding.
The strange thing about all this is that I had to borrow an Eb for community band rehearsal last week, and I had almost no problems with the Eb fingerings. I knew the Eb fingerings already, though I have never played an Eb outside of picking one up for a few minutes here and there. I am proficient with trumpet fingerings, though, so I guess there was a lot of transfer or overlap of skills.
