Hi,
I'll play soon the Serenade for winds a Suite (op.4) by Richard Strauss. The both parts are a contra-bassoon part and it's optional for bass-tuba. The contra-bassoon sounds one octave lower than written. So, do I have to play it an octave lower or play as written. To the peoples who played it, what you did, what conducters asked about this??
