I had the extreme pleasure of getting to know Lee Stofer during my time at the Armed Forces School of Music in 1995. Lee was a true inspiration during that time. He would always give me the time of day when I would stop by the 3fd floor repair shop to see what he was working on or to just say hi! He is a very warm hearted individual and a wonderful musician. You have to hear him on his big bell front Conn 34J. I remember when he got that horn and we cleaned the heck out of it. He fell in love with it immediately.
Lee was always overloaded with projects because people kept bringing in something new for him to work on or customize! I bought my first two tuba's from Lee.
I wish him the best during his retirement years!
