I have an old Conn 20K - Silver plated, that I am thinking of selling. It is rather beaten up (it was in a HS band room for 40 years), but all the slides work and the valves are in excellent condition. Like in classic cars, it could be described as a 20 footer (looks decent from 20 feet away, up close not quite as pretty). Anyhow, I was the high bidder on the silver and gold 38K on an unnamed auction site, and don't have room for for both sousas plus my other 2 horns. The bell does look decent and shiny, but the chasis is a bit beaten up, and probably needs some kind of cleaning bath to get the tanish out of the tight areas in the valve piping. So, should I decide to sell it, what would be a fair price? I don't want to overcharge someone, but at the same time don't want to get low-balled by a reseller...
