It will be very difficult to get information from most of the readers and posters of this or any other bulletin board about an audition such as this. Why? you ask? Ask some of the players if giving information is helpful or hurtful? Having lost a "major" job several years ago by telling a big name player why I was in his city auditioning, in a private audition, for a guest conductor, I can honestly say I will not share information of that nature ever again.

If you have the Torchinsky books, most of the parts have tempi indicated. Otherwise, buy some recordings. Since you and several others are going to send a tape, is it Boston?, would you then spend some more money on a flight case, or airline ticket if they accept you? If the answer is yes, just do your homework and get what you need. Who knows? You might win.
